Have you checked your blood pressure today?
It is frightfully important to check on your blood pressure especially in this most hectic pace of living nowadays. There is no fear for the routine checking as it will only safeguard you from sudden stroke and death possibly. While you go on regular exercise you also need to watch out on your food . Have a good habit of checking your blood pressure regularly is an insurance against accidental disaster.

A Peculiar Character
In Sibu, there is an office of a credit firm that has closed business long time ago but the office has been retained for the sole purpose of meeting place for freelance talkers who may be better known as Da Pao Sieng group including former leftist sympathizers, successful businessmen, freelance writers or blogger. Among these people, there stands out an outstanding character who is rather low key and reticent person who happens to be a blogger and newspaper commentator but due to his leftist viewpoints , many of his articles have just been thrown into the dustbin. He is not too outspoken though but when he writes he professes himself to be the righteous and true leftist while brandishing others as empty boasters and worthless in terms of what he thinks as his monopoly to the true path to salvation. Very unfortunately, he is not only a loner in society but also one man show at home for not even his wife or children would follow him even in holiday travel so he paid many visits to Socialist China while his life partner is a very fervent christian who prefers to live her life closest to the church. A man full of controversies and yet he is too proud to admit his own weaknesses including his rather romantic fancies for a Japanese pen pal and a small little girl whom he has given tuition long time ago. His main interest seems to be building a personal sanctuary in his personal blog in which he would devote most of his time to do whatever he pleases including exhibiting his genital(using his own words precisely) he is so self centred that he has practically no friends and when he is not happy with any friend, he would not explain or reason with him/her and will do his best to attack with all the most hurting and sour words that he would not even hurl against his enemies including his most hated politicians. While quick to point an accusing finger at his adversary, he never scrutinizes his own image and thinks that he is good enough to judge over all others . What does he think he is, saint? Well after all, he is best left to himself as he has his weakness and good points too and to leave him alone would be the best policy .

A Major Operation
It was back in the year 2000 that I had a bad attack of artery lesion that nearly cost me my dear life. The left main artery, the main artery had a lesion that caused the blood circulation to be impeded to such an extent that I felt fainting and pain in the heart and the sickening feeling of throbbing of the artery running up the neck which could be felt with bare hand. As I had the previous experience of dizziness caused by imbalance of the fluid in the middle ear called vertigo, I thought it could go off in a short time by lying down. But then after lying down for a long time, I didn't feel any relief so I knew it was not the case. I informed my daughter and was taken to the hospital to see the doctor. After examination by the Indian doctor on call, it was diagnosed as Aorta lesion and it was decided to send me to Kuching for operation accompanied by a doctor. In Normah Hospital, the surgeon who attended me informed that he would have to go abroad the next day for urgent duties and that due to lack of necessary equipments, he recommended to go to Singapore that very evening for an operation to be carried out the next morning. I arrived in Singapore late at midnight and rested for the next day. The next morning, another more urgent case came out and a aged pastor was operated first with only 40% chance and he did not survive the operation. That afternoon, I was wheeled into the operation at about 2 p.m. and the heart surgeon took about 8 hours to operate on me and he told my wife that I was lucky to be alive as it was not a simple feat. With the repair on my aorta, I recovered quickly and my general health has impoved greatly with better blood circulation as since very young I had cold extremities and could not stand hard work. I had a narrow escape from death!

The independent group in parliament?
It is the strangest declaration of independence by the handful of political turncoats who having surrendered all their principles in party politics and who now find not much rewards from their masters are now in a very precarious position in politics because they would be soon swept away as rubbish and then not even those who have pressured or pay for their resigning and frog-jumping would value them . They now find themselves in a pitiful situation whereas these political prostitutes could hardly go back and they would soon be swept away . The so-called independents are truly political turncoats who are worthless to PKR and now even the other side could see they are a useless bunch of rubbish gangsters catering for their self-interest only. It would not surprise us to see them cleared off in the coming general election!

MY PUPPY LOVE
When I was a small boy of 5 or 6, I had a good neighbor of my same age. She was from a rich family and she liked to come over to my house to play. We had a lot of fun playing with whatever available like the pebbles, coloured stones, leaves and seeds of the rubber trees. We had also pretended to be getting married, doing cooking and eating the food consisting of seeds and leaves. We enjoyed very much and were having great fun in the marriage procession when her eldest brother came by and stopped the game and pulled her back. Her mother was a typical soft spoken and kind lady with bound feet and she was a very devoted Buddhist . She was very good to me giving me sweets , fruit and whatever food she had. I was even allowed to play on her big and comfortable bed.Now nearly sixty over years later I met her eldest brother in a big party and was told she was still well and fit but I had no chance or enough courage to find out where she really was. Just keep it in the memory lane.

Don't Jump Into Conclusion!
People have been used to things of this world for long time and they often take things for granted and jump into conclusion hastily. Before the by-election, people would say that the voters would always vote for BN no matter what because of the huge amount of money given and promised to be given. A lot of them said people will vote for development and stability. But now the result has surprised them and serves as eye-opener for all who have eyes to see and ears to hear! The world is moving and there is no doubt people will change to face the changing circumstances otherwise they would be hopeless. The truth is not easy to get but once people know the truth they will never be fools any more. People don't need sweet talking or cash gifts and what not, they want justice and true democracy. They are no longer ignorant and childish and they just want their own rights and respect. Be fair and think really in terms of the welfare of the people, then you will win their hearts and whole-hearted support.

The Change!
Just yesterday when I rang up a friend in Sibu he told me he noticed a very strange change of attitude of Kampong people in Sibu. On that voting day, he went by the Malay Kampong area and found that quite a lot of Malay residents there holding the rocket banners and small rocket artifacts and urged the voters to go for rocket. It must be pointed out he has been a strong supporter of BN because as he said without SUPP in the BN there would be no development for Sibu. But late last night it was announced that the DAP's Wong Ho Leng won the seat with 398 more votes over BN. So if BN really want to know what is really wrong, they may have to ask the past iron voters why they stopped supporting BN or PBB for that matter.

What's wrong?
A witness said he was so frightened that his feet shook badly and when the lawyer asked him how the accused could insert his penis into his anus in such a situation he just could not answer. Just yesterday, the witness told the defense lawyer that he did not willingly participate in the carnal intercourse with the accused and emphatically stressed he was forced to it. But the public prosecutor charged the accused and the witness to have voluntarily engaged in carnal intercourse. This surprised even the presiding judge who stated this case is so unique that never before in judicial history that such ridiculous controversy has happened that the evidence of chief witness contradicted with that of the prosecution. What is really wrong with our judicial system? What is true is true and what is false is false! To bear false witness and make up all baseless accusation is a great sin according to all religious teachings and all societies but unfortunately our Country seems to take an exception?! Can any learned genteel help to explain why?

Little Things in Life
When one is getting old one would naturally goes for small things in life as big things and ideals are beyond reach anyway. Go for short journey, stay for a few days not too far away from home town and get little tasks accomplished to find satisfaction in life. This is one way to stay young and refreshed in outlook. Do not disregard small things; do not neglect small things in life. Check our blood pressure regularly. check our blood periodically and our remaining teeth which are very precious. Do not try doing small bad things or bad habits even though they are trifling and insignificant as such things would eventually amount to a great burden harmful to health.

Whom To Choose?
Whom to choose to represent us in the State Assembly or the Parliament? It is time we wake up to think hard before casting our votes. An important man from a ruling party threatened the electorates with such May 13 killing and that the army factor etc. Now we know the past bloodletting was the result of power struggle of the dominant party and the sacrifice of the common people has been perpetuated by those unscrupulous political gangsters , wolves in the sheep's skin. Dr Kho Ka Siong has rightly written a book on the sins of the evil racialists among the dominant party. It must be pointed out that the massacre has been twisted as racial conflict and the crime of racialists can never be forgiven and nor forgotten! Now they are still trying to add salt to the old wounds!? They must be very stupid to show their own ugly faces and all the people would certainly not be cowed into giving them another chance to achieve their evil aims !

What People want?
After all the dusts have settled, the by-election result was still not satisfactory , they now asked what the people really wanted. Well, it is as simple as that; people want to have a clean government and they want all citizens to be treated as equal and not just one section of the people are more than equal by race or origin etc. Land is a big issue. They want to have their lands be renewed after the expiry dates for free or at a nominal price of one ringgit per acre. The 60 years or 99 years term should be amended to 999 years or perpetuity. They don't need your gift of money which is rightly their own money from all the tax-payers. Just do not try to siege the lands on expiry or people will be very very angry indeed.

From Experience
I was rather weak from birth and due to the bad time during the Japanese occupation , I was rather undernourished. So I remember having to eat a lot of medicines and sometimes drink some sort of bitter mixtures like quinine etc. I recalled even after I started working, I still had a lot of flu and cold, still requiring to boil the water to mix with tap water for my bath. My health turned better when I started taiqiquan which really improved my health so that I no longer needed hot water for my baths. Later I did not continue the taiqi for some time and was not too healthy going towards late 50s but then after a major operation in 2000, I went back to be scrupulous in my diets and exercise. I found out that a cold treatment is better for health. I would try to take cold showers at leat once a day and with that I would say cold or flu no longer trouble me any longer. It is more so when the weather is warming up now and to add warm water to your bath would be uncomfortable enough so cold bath is my first rule of good health. Of course stop drinking alcohol, stop consuming butter , sweets, chocolates, cakes and event honey is not commendable as the sugar content is high too. With regular exercise, discreet diets and spiritual health, I feel rejuvenated and of happy in the golden years.

Lao Ma
Lao Ma was the worst prime minister in the history of Malaysia. He has been rightly described as the greatest racist by no other than BN's spokesman, Nazri. Mr.Zhan Yung How , a lecturer in The Monash University has just written an article published in See Hua Daily today describing him as a total failure in his long realm and instead he has caused the chaos and deterioration of racial relationship and social cohesion during his dictatorial rule and even now he is still going all out to do more harm to racial relationship during the rule of the present Prime Minister by advocating Malay special rights which in fact are right and interest of Umnoputra and narrowed down to a few rich and powerful Malay super rich political gangsters who always try to cry for blood of other races with the Kris held high! He recommended a book written to find the true face and colours of the evil racist! In fact his own daughter, Marina has also condemned the Racist Perkasa and declared that those are shameless evil minded narrow Malay racists who advocate racialism to promote their own interest at the expense of the national interest and she also pointed out rightly that Malays do not need protection or special rights as they are confident enough to stand on their own feet in the face of globalisation!

A Matter of Principle
It is not easy to make friend but on other hand it is quite easy to lose one. I have come across such a man who for reason that only he himself knows chose to break off with me just because I tried to reason with him on some articles he posted in his blog. A mutual friend suggested to me to stop arguing with him and leave him alone in his own blog but I think it a matter of principle that I should be given a chance to say what I feel right and he as a progressive element as he professed should at least hear what I have to say and not unceremoniously slam my phone call. Well I think if I give way to him and his despotic way, I would encourage his bossy ways. So I believe as a matter of principle, I would rather lose such a friend than kowtow to him like a slave.

An Experience of A Picnic
Early in the late 70s, I was once invited to go for a picnic. I was accompanied by a friend and we cycled for at least one and a half hours before reaching a small hut in a rubber garden somewhere in Upper Lanang Road. There were quite a number of youngsters gathered in the sitting room while I was given the honour of presiding over the informal meeting giving a sort of general talk on the topic of the world and local situations. At that time I had just read a book borrowed from SUDC Library on the movements in various colonies in Africa, Asia and other backward countries. I was rather nervous and inexperienced in making speeches so I requested a small makeshift black board for me to write some key words to explain more clearly. I recalled relating the revolutionary movements and struggles for independence of the colonies in Africa and Asia and after specific coverage of various movements and went on to generalize the world picture of global struggles against the Western Imperialism encouraged by the rise of the Eastern friendly nations. I did not know how the reception was and fortunately , later I had a chance to talk with one student who is now in her late 60s and she said she still had a vivid impression of me trying my very best then to paint a bright picture of the East Wind prevailing over the West. I just want to flatter myself with her praises whether genuine or not. Don't spoil good memory.
A Loner
After I know him better, I know now he is just a lone ranger who looks down on others. He had been an agitator in his school days and he did go to jail for his part in students movement in school time. But he is at heart a loner and a stubborn one hard to get along with. He has tried to portrait himself as a free thinker and leftist writer but when you have been with him for some time, you will find out he is just a vainglorious poet/writer who often imagines some beautiful girls in the past had chased him when in fact, because of his low e.q. he had never had any real girl friend except his small small pupils or a small sweat girl who also blushed when he had given her attention exceeding those other girls he also gave tuition then. All these are his imagination and self-consolation. The most serious thing is he does not tolerate any criticism nor even comments on his writings in books, news, or his personal blog. I now see him as a vainglorious frog sitting in his own beautiful pond, croaking away in the golden evening setting sun. Let's not disturb him. Let him enjoy his own kingdom! He had never taken any step to put into practice whatever he advocates. He attacks the corrupt ruling class but he also tries to assists in smearing the brave young politician in the opposition with black paint and fierceness not less that the ruling clique. He never joins any political party saying that all political parties make no difference. So it was good for him he was not captured and jailed or even killed because he did not join the actual underground movement though he was a strong sympathizer of CCO. That's why he sometimes attacks others branding them empty vessels while he thinks he has sacrificed much for his leftist leaning and stand.

A Nonconformist ?
He has been a leftist since his school days and has caused headache to his teachers with his leftist ideas and actions but he has not been a member of the leftist group. After he has come out to the society he has been a loner, fighting his own battle with his pen attacking the corrupted politicians and the authority but he has never been in any labour movement nor has he joined any political party. He is not easy to get along with and it somehow saves his skin also because if he were in any underground movement during the 70's he would long have been put in detention camp then. Now he chooses to stay alone not joining the opposition party saying that the opposition is no good also. So he prefers to be independent writer and even in his present position he does not welcome any criticism as he prefers to freely build his own blog into a private flower garden in which to nourish his dream of beauties, arts, crafts or whatever that comes to his fancy and taste.
