A Peculiar Character
In Sibu, there is an office of a credit firm that has closed business long time ago but the office has been retained for the sole purpose of meeting place for freelance talkers who may be better known as Da Pao Sieng group including former leftist sympathizers, successful businessmen, freelance writers or blogger. Among these people, there stands out an outstanding character who is rather low key and reticent person who happens to be a blogger and newspaper commentator but due to his leftist viewpoints , many of his articles have just been thrown into the dustbin. He is not too outspoken though but when he writes he professes himself to be the righteous and true leftist while brandishing others as empty boasters and worthless in terms of what he thinks as his monopoly to the true path to salvation. Very unfortunately, he is not only a loner in society but also one man show at home for not even his wife or children would follow him even in holiday travel so he paid many visits to Socialist China while his life partner is a very fervent christian who prefers to live her life closest to the church. A man full of controversies and yet he is too proud to admit his own weaknesses including his rather romantic fancies for a Japanese pen pal and a small little girl whom he has given tuition long time ago. His main interest seems to be building a personal sanctuary in his personal blog in which he would devote most of his time to do whatever he pleases including exhibiting his genital(using his own words precisely) he is so self centred that he has practically no friends and when he is not happy with any friend, he would not explain or reason with him/her and will do his best to attack with all the most hurting and sour words that he would not even hurl against his enemies including his most hated politicians. While quick to point an accusing finger at his adversary, he never scrutinizes his own image and thinks that he is good enough to judge over all others . What does he think he is, saint? Well after all, he is best left to himself as he has his weakness and good points too and to leave him alone would be the best policy .

A Major Operation
It was back in the year 2000 that I had a bad attack of artery lesion that nearly cost me my dear life. The left main artery, the main artery had a lesion that caused the blood circulation to be impeded to such an extent that I felt fainting and pain in the heart and the sickening feeling of throbbing of the artery running up the neck which could be felt with bare hand. As I had the previous experience of dizziness caused by imbalance of the fluid in the middle ear called vertigo, I thought it could go off in a short time by lying down. But then after lying down for a long time, I didn't feel any relief so I knew it was not the case. I informed my daughter and was taken to the hospital to see the doctor. After examination by the Indian doctor on call, it was diagnosed as Aorta lesion and it was decided to send me to Kuching for operation accompanied by a doctor. In Normah Hospital, the surgeon who attended me informed that he would have to go abroad the next day for urgent duties and that due to lack of necessary equipments, he recommended to go to Singapore that very evening for an operation to be carried out the next morning. I arrived in Singapore late at midnight and rested for the next day. The next morning, another more urgent case came out and a aged pastor was operated first with only 40% chance and he did not survive the operation. That afternoon, I was wheeled into the operation at about 2 p.m. and the heart surgeon took about 8 hours to operate on me and he told my wife that I was lucky to be alive as it was not a simple feat. With the repair on my aorta, I recovered quickly and my general health has impoved greatly with better blood circulation as since very young I had cold extremities and could not stand hard work. I had a narrow escape from death!
